PRESIDENT 

Elisha N. Hawk (Dugan, Babij, Tolley & Kohler) focuses her practice on medical malpractice. Prior to joining Dugan, Babij, Tolley & Kohler in April 2016, Ms. Hawk worked on pharmaceutical and medical device litigations.  As a result of her efforts to bring justice to her clients, Ms. Hawk was selected to be the State Chair for Maryland cases by the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the New England Compounding Pharmacy MDL.  Ms. Hawk has been honored by the Maryland Daily Record as a 2014 Leading Woman, and by the Maryland Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2013-2017. Ms. Hawk graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2008 with a Certificate in Health Law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Hawk taught middle school English. She taught for six years in Baltimore City Public Schools and for five years at Calvert School. She also completed a Master of Liberal Arts program at Johns Hopkins University before deciding to earn her law degree.  In addition to being an active member of the Maryland Association for Justice, Ms. Hawk also remains active in the community.  She is a core member of Back on My Feet Baltimore’s Team MCVET and serves on the organization’s Advisory Board.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their four kids.

PRESIDENT ELECT

David J. Wildberger (Iliff, Meredith, Wildberger & Brennan, PC) graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, and began to practice law in 1992. Since 1995, Mr. Wildberger’s practice has emphasized representation of victims of medical negligence. Mr. Wildberger is listed in the 2010 Maryland Super Lawyers, and he has also held many offices and board and committee positions with the Maryland Association for Justice, among other legal organizations.

VICE PRESIDENT

Ellen B. Flynn is a partner in the law firm of Dugan, Babij, Tolley & Kohler, LLC, in Timonium, Maryland.  She received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Richmond, and obtained her JD from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.  Ms. Flynn is newly appointed to the MAJ Board of Governors.  She is admitted to practice law in Federal and State Courts of Maryland, Connecticut and the District of Columbia.  Her primary practice area involves representing those injured by medical negligence.  She lives with her husband and two daughters in Ellicott City, Maryland.

SECRETARY

Amy M. Orsi has been associated with The Law Office of Stephen A. Markey, III, PC since August 2002 and became a partner in 2009. Ms. Orsi practices in the areas of serious injury claims, automobile negligence, slip and fall, wrongful death, medical malpractice, general litigation and landlord/tenant. Ms. Orsi received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998 and received her J.D. from the University of Baltimore in 2002. She is a member of the Maryland Association of Justice, the Maryland State and Baltimore City Bar Associations, and the American Association for Justice. Ms. Orsi currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Maryland Association for Justice. Ms. Orsi is a member of the Maryland Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. Ms. Orsi has served on and co-chaired various committees within the Maryland Association for Justice and is a member of the Auto Tort Negligence Section and Medical Negligence Section.

TREASURER

Eric N. Schloss practices personal injury in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.  Eric concentrates in injuries caused by motor vehicle collisions, workers’ compensation cases and personal injury litigation.

Eric has an AV Rating with Martindale-Hubbell.  Eric was selected as a "2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Personal Injury Law" by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell.  Eric was selected to the 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 lists of Maryland Super Lawyers in Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine in the area of Personal Injury Plaintiff: General.  Eric was selected to the 2009 Rising Stars as seen in Maryland Super Lawyers magazine in the area of Personal Injury Plaintiff:  General.

From 2000 to June 2015, Eric was a member of Gordon Feinblatt's Personal Injury Practice Group.  Prior to joining Gordon Feinblatt, Eric practiced at Saiontz & Kirk from 1995 to 2000 where he concentrated in personal injury litigation and workers' compensation cases.

Eric is very active with the Maryland Association for Justice and serves on the Board of Governors. Eric is Co-Chair of the MAJ Auto Negligence Section.  Eric is serving on the MAJ Education & Programs Committee.  Eric also serves on the MAJ Legislative Committee and has testified before various committees in the Maryland General Assembly.  In the past, Eric has been a frequent lecturer for the MAJ and has been a frequent writer for the MAJ Trial Reporter.

PARLIAMENTARIAN

Emily C. Malarkey is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and a partner at Bekman, Marder & Adkins, LLC in Baltimore.  She joined the firm in 2006 after completing an appellate judicial clerkship for the Honorable Sally D. Adkins on the Court of Special Appeals.  Since then, she has developed a busy practice in the areas of medical negligence, wrongful death, and other catastrophic injury.  Ms. Malarkey has tried many complicated medical negligence trials, including three with verdicts in excess of $2 million. She also has represented clients in numerous appeals that have gone on to create published law, and has been named a Rising Star in every edition of Maryland Super Lawyers since 2010.

Emily serves on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Association for Justice and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee. She lives in Timonium with her husband and two children, and in her “spare" time, pretends to be a runner and aspiring chef.

Tom Yostis the founder and principal of The Yost Legal Group. He received his B.A. Degree in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1983 and a J.D. from Delaware Law School in 1986. He is admitted to practice in Maryland (1987), District of Columbia (2000), Pennsylvania (1986), and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (1988). He is a Platinum member of the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) Legislative Leaders’ Circle.  His public speaking includes presentations on product liability, Frye/Reed, and how to market your law firm on behalf of MAJ. He has participated as an invited speaker on behalf of Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health on the issue of the childhood lead paint poisoning.  He is a frequent volunteer through MAJ’s efforts in legislative advocacy, mentoring young lawyers, and fundraising. He concentrates his personal practice of law on cases involving pharmaceutical product liability, toxic exposure, protection of human test subjects in research, interstate trucking litigation, FELA – Railroad claims, traumatic brain injury cases, and catastrophic injury cases.
