Committees

MAJ Committees give members the opportunity to drive and shape the direction of the Association. We are currently recruiting volunteers for 2014-2015 for the following committees:

  • Amicus: Write and file amicus curiae briefs in cases pending before Maryland Courts of Appeals and Special Appeals, and evaluate requests from members for assistance with pending appeals.
  • Education & Programs: Plan curriculum, recruit speakers, and moderate for the Association's CLE seminars, breakfast/luncheon programs, and teleseminars/webinars.
  • Legislative: Help shape and promote the Associations legislative agenda for the upcoming Legislative Session.
  • Membership: Develop, plan and coordinate membership recruitment and retention strategies. Participate in recruitment/retention activities as necessary.
  • Mentoring: Match members with mentoring opportunities and assist in facilitating those relationships with events and activities.
  • Taskforcing: Lead recruitment efforts for participation in President's Club and coordinate other fundraising activities as necessary.
  • Trial Reporter: Brainstorm topic and article ideas, assist with the recruitment of authors, and proofread draft articles. Some opportunities to write may be available.
